I wouldn't recommend this one unless is it your own personal works with no copyrights exchanged. Here is why -
taken from #16 in Terms of Service:
you grant to deviantART a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, re-format, store, prepare derivative works based on, and publicly display and perform Your Content....
There is not a link to this while registering, only a box to check making sure you "agree".
Not saying it's a bad site at all, just be careful to read the fine print and make sure it's the right site for you and your purpose.
If you want an ad-free site and know some basic HTML, I'd recommend Geocities Pro (now it's called Yahoo Small Business). It's about $14 a month for a domain name, unlimited storage, your own e-mail accounts, and all sorts of visitor tracking tools.

fast and simpleI just found this one: simple private file sharing, free internet file sharing, by drop.io
Cool - no account is necessary. That's so unusual.
Drop.io enables you to create simple private sharing points called "drops."
The service has no email signup and no "accounts." Each drop is private, and only as accessible as you choose to deliberately make it. Create multiple drops, add any type of media, and share or subscribe as you want. To make a drop just click the big red button that says 'drop it' (more)

I reccomend that you go with a local hosting provider. If they would behava in a bad way, you can always go knock on their door :-)
I think this one is better than others

Yeah, I use Carbonmade. Wow, I can't say enough good things about this site. It's very slick, your work is presented in a nice clean environment with no ad's or junk cluttering up the page, and there's a few options for how you want the home page to look, with thumbnails etc. The only way you can tell it's a proprietary site is a discreet logo for the host in the corner.
The best part is it's free and not even on a time limit and you can display quite a lot of images and even divide them into sections if you want. To be honest 35 images is probably as many as you're ever going to need. Who wants to wade through a portfolio of 50-70 images? Just make sure you have your 2 or 3 projects up there and that's enough.
