Greetings, I'm new to design contest and am interested in holding some design contests on behalf of my clients. I've held numerous contest on other forums and almost always have been blown away by the entries.

There was one instance where none of the submitters could "get it right" and we ended up NOT choosing a winner.

I'm curious to see if this site has any built in assurance that I will get something I want.

** Yes yes.. I realize being very thorough in our expectations will make sure this doesn't happen as I've never needed to deposit my award money prior to choosing a design.

Anyways - I look forward to seeing some of the talent here and making someone a little cash.

Thanks
jw

Hello Macmonkey..welcome to designcontest:)
unlike other contest sites, our designers must be accepted to our design team......this keeps the quality high:) Please read this, hopefully it''ll answer some of your questions:)

Thank you for the link - I had read that before but am still unclear as per what the procedure is should I not award a winning design and need to take the business elsewhere.

I understand that everyone taking part on this website is here on a voluntary basis but would feel much more comfortable as a contest holder knowing that I retain the right to NOT award a winner should I not see a winning design.

Worst case - I'd have to pay $300 for a design that I didn't feel was good.

Just as reassurance I've held about 10 design contests elsewhere and only once had a situation like this and was mainly because it was a limited budget for that particular contest.

The guidelines link is not working. What was the response to this question?

Here is the correct link: http://www.designcon...content/view/34

It's the same one that's displayed in the Start a Contest page; we had some updates done recently so the one above became invalid.
