@Catalina Lotero -> A forum Post is just that what ever you write on any forum counts as a post, the idea is that you participate and become part of the community, hope you enjoy and share you vision of graphic design with us!
@husnil -> Welcome! Peace for you too
@Formand3n -> Remember that if you get accepted there is going t be a poll and every DC members will vote if you have an active and shearing participation, good luck for every one!!!!
Ehm.
Let me get this straight...
You need to fulfill 10 criterias AND have a poll of acceptance from users you don't know and/or care about?
Already made 2 logo designs for Zukka, but no way possible I will be accepted in time to post. IF I get through the 11 steps, that is.

Too bad we are people you don't care to get to know. Some of us look forward to getting to know new members. This is a community not only of contests but a place to learn and meet other designers from all over the world. The standards on this site are high and the rules are followed to a "T". I like and appreciate the high standards and strict rules, it weeds out the ones that don't care to get to know any of us
Do you need something converted to a vector ?www.ineedavector.com
Don't feel so offended. I am very straight-forward and call it as I see it.
My purpose of joining this website was to design, not social networking.
If I make a few new buddies on this website, then God speed - but this is not why I registered. I see it as being very weird and ackward, that you need to win a popularity contest in order to start posting designs.
I've been to a few of the competing website and they have no standards what-so-ever - so I am happy that there's an application process here, to keep the standards high. But a panel of skilled designers should be able to determinate whether a new member is skilled enough from a portfolio.
Sadly there are many in this saturated industry who's portfolio's are doctored up with concepts that they (Them self) did not do 100%. It's because of this that the application process & the getting to know each new member appeals to me here. I'm sure we have all scratched our heads at least once coming across 2 totally separate portfolio's from 2 totally different people, yet they have some of the same exact (Copy) designs claiming rights to them.
By taking the time to get to know each member & dare I say, Monitor their behavior, design styles, ethics, professionalism, Etc., it helps make this site / service more appealing to the potential client that needs a little more security in knowing what they are buying is genuinely unique & not an infringement.
Whilst it may seem frustrating to have to jump through hoops in a democratically structured social system in order to gain acceptance into the "Elite design" team, I would much rather it be this way rather than those competing business models that allow anyone to submit to clients. I'm sure everyone here has at least once seen a design they know full well is a rip off that won a contest they were participating in them self, Now "that's" frustrating!!![]()
You should really read ALL of the stickies around here. It would have let you know not to have wasted your time designing for a contest (unless the community contest) until you have been accepted.
There is no need for me to respond to the other comments, it looks to have been covered.
X2
I personally enjoy people being straight forward and stating what is on their mind. good or bad it doesn't matter to me just state what you want to say and let it all out there.
This attitude would be helpful in the critique area.
Excelent post.
That is a great attitude to have.
Don't get discuraged by the process it is there for a reason.
Either respect it or go somewhere else where you'll be competing with people that really shouldn't be there and get lost in the hundreds of posts with just so-so work. The skill level here will help you be a better designer. If you wanted to play a sport would you want to play with people that were able to walk on from the streets or with those that will challenge you to be your best at all times.![]()

Not really sure what you'd like to know. This thread has a ton of info on it as well as some others here. If you have a specific question please post it up and one of us would be glad to assist you.
You do not have to be a professional designer, but a good portfolio is what will get you in the door. Then it's a voting process.
Please read some of the "stickies" in this area.

Hi,
I have to say I'm a bit lost in this site, there are so much info and even if my English is fluent, there are some things that is somehow difficult to understand.
About the portfolio, is it enough if there is a gallery in my website to show my designs. Or do you suggest to make a separate portfolio in Internet. I don't want to put my name etc. on my website.
