What i dont get is: does it only apply to this specific forum? ive posted like crazy in others, and actually learned a lot. i even wrote about me at "introduce yourself' only to find out that the "submit your design" did not let me do so.

No, you can post in any of the forum threads and as long as they are meaningful posts, you will be able to enter a contest.
However, there are 2 different types of contests - those that are open to ALL members, and those that are open to ELITE members. Is it possible that you were trying to enter an Elite only contest?

My only comment about having to post 10 or more comments is simply this: I am confused on what I can do as a new member. I have read most of the posts regarding this, but I still seem rather confused. Do you have to have 10 posts in order to post a design anywhere? Are there places where you can upload a design regardless of post count? I am truly trying to understand the rules because of all the sites I have researched I feel that DC has the most newbie friendly staff. I look forward to designing with you all soon.
Anyone can enter the Community contests at anytime. Currently I see you have 11 posts which means you can enter any design contest that says it is open to all.
The only way you can currently submit to an open to Elite contest is to be an Elite designer which can be accomplished by meeting the requirements found here: http://www.designcontest.com/designe...team-form.html
I hope this helps and be sure to read all these important threads too: http://www.designcontest.com/knowledgebase.html
Good luck and have fun designing.![]()
Its an interesting approach to have 10 posts before one can submit a design. Like a fool though i missed out on reading this rule and already spent 2 days creating a logo for a contest, which is getting over in 48 hrs...anyway, I guess its my bad! I'll start with the posts now.
Well i want to upload my design too ....But rules are rule. I hope i will have 10 mean full posts until this contest ends. Anyway ...happy to be in this design community![]()
If everyone would stop worrying about the "10" posts you would get to your goal faster. If you just take a second, read through a couple of posts and reply like you would in a conversation of person to person. For the folks with a language barrier. Type out your thread or reply then use a translator, google translator is great and it is free or just do a translator search. It is fast and easy, copy your text, paste it into the translator and click translate. Copy the translated text and paste into the thread you are replying to.
I'm not not trying to make light on the language barrier at all, I do not want to be insensitive to the issue, I'm just trying to offer up some help for non English language. I have been on a few non English websites and it is very difficult to navigate around. I have used the website translator another google thing. It worked pretty good and allowed me to navigate around.

the problem with the translator programs it's the fact that they are not made to describe the meaning, they are just plain old translation. In my native language a word can have 2 meanings, and you can find the meaning in the frase it's used.
And the 10 rule posts, it's like making someone write when they just wanna let their work do the talking. It is this wrong ? why not letting your work do the talk ?
What is post padding?
I doing now the ten posts.and I was wondering if I can expose my 1st work so I can get replies in case im doing something wrong.I´ve study .ai and .psd , but it was about 3 years ago.is there any section that you could expose before the 10 posts?I started today
I'm new here so thanks for the information.
Hi. Noob here, a little surprised and daunted by the 10 posts requirement. Purely because I think it forces me to find posts that require a response and post an artificial reply (imho).
I wonder (if it's okay to make a suggestion) if DC might suit both sides of the argument if it was possible to allow everyone to enter 1 contest with just an intro post & then you must have 10 for entry number 2? It might give designers a chance to absorb the site and the process of submitting a design. Perhaps then for post number 2 it would be mandatory to write about the experience of creating their first entry? Just a thought!
We no longer require this, and has been stated many times throughout this thread. thread is closed
