My first lesson
I started working on Design Contest for about 1 month. I am relatively new in graphic design, my experience is in advertising. At first I put some logos with parts of sites of vectors and clipart. but soon saw that other designers were doing the same and in some contests put the same elements. This past week saw three contests be won with vectors I've seen on some sites. Aspen changed color, or more or less round, etc. and another contest with a concept that has already seen one of these sites. I made this experience and I saw the result. Sometimes it can happen go to meet or just a concept that already exists, it happened to me one of these contests, but a bird is a bird, so there is very likely to happen something. I am also a painter, and one thing I learned is that we painters, and designers have the privilege of creating something that is entirely our own, so why should we create a piece of work. I from one moment I thought, I'll create my logos, such as paint my pictures, so I can say this is mine. this is my mark. I know some will read this will say bla bla bla. I know that money is also important, but let's also an original brand. I can say I've learned a lot from some work I've seen, and I am willing to continue learning. To all designers, let`s create, at least I'll try.

Hi there
Life lessons for sure. Sometimes designs do go by without being removed. That is why we need you the designer to let us know when an existing design is being used in an entry. https://www.designcontest.com/help/i...eport-a-design
Now as far as a bird is a bird yes very true to a point. : )
If you have entered lets say a contest for auto parts, your entry has a bird in it, that bird would be very unique to this contest. Lets say the ch liked this and rated your design the highest or high in this contest, now you see entries with birds all over the place. Those other bird entries can be removed if you report them. You see, you created the unique idea/concept of the bird. The other designers would be copying you.
Now when it comes to designs entered that look like designs on the net.......... Some of these designs do and will look very much alike, this happens when a designer creates an idea/concept that is lets say a fad style/idea. LEts go with the swooshi guy you can only create that swooshi guy so many ways before they all look the same. It is always best to stay away from fads but when a contestholder has requested swooshi guy you will end up with designs very much like designs that have been created already.
So all in all we learn and grow from these little lessons of growth and experience

Thanks for your reply and explanation, but I was not referring to a style fad / idea. but I think I understood and you too. Tanks

Style and fad concepts are difficult to deal some times. It becomes more difficult when that is what the client wants or asks for.
referring to the famous swoosi guy again.... I understand why this is..it is an easy way for the client to portray people and be politically correct at the same time without offending race, gender or what ever else the client/contest holder may fear offending. They use the swoosi guy to appeal to all and not target just men or women, they don't worry about skin color using the swoosi guy .
If you look through the history of logo design you will see some interesting fads concerning people in logos. Back in the early 20s-30s you see most if not 99 percent (ok maybe 99 percent is a little high) of logo designs with people used men and the designs were extremely detailed and illustrative in nature. The history of logo design is fun to check out and learn from

Yes I understand but I mean for example some bowls that were used in logos and I saw them at sites free of vectors, the only difference is that change colors, or put some more element. Or a concept exixtente these sites, which put your text here, the concept is pre-prepared, then the symbol is more or less beautiful, I think does not matter because the basic idea is already there. I do not want food this theme. When I put the title "my first lesson, I am referring to what I learned from that work with you, which I find very interesting and exciting, and I hope to further develop my skills as a graphic designer, noting that great designers here present their work.

And thanks for your clarification.

If you see this please report the design, we will review it and remove if we find the design to be the same
