2005.01.05 : Linux Based Windows OS

How does that look for the beginning?

Product title: Windows LX

Objective: Design a Logo for the next version of MS open source operating system based on Linux kernel.

Goals: the logo should break down the stereotype of MS being a greedy monopolist and make users want to buy this new version.

Colors: No preference

Style: Very corporate style yet appealing to a normal american family.

Deadline: 2005.01.15, may not be extended.

Random idea i came up with:


incorporating letters LX into a window:


basically used the same colours as windows xp. I've still sorta kept the window concept, but i was wondering, should we still use a window? or can we make something completely different to the original windows logo?

another issue I forgot to mention! The logo should fit into the corporate style of MS... and humorous approach is appreciated

Also, Edua's last one totally catches the feel that linux is not trying to make money as greedy people. Don't like the inverted on though. Like the second one. Penguin = cute = no greed. :P

Here's another one. As you can see the original linux penguin is sitting ontop of windows, giving linux dominance and control over the the greedy microsoft windows.
