    Hi golden tiger,

I like the top right logo the best, I think its most visually balanced and most approachable - the ark especially creates a friendly appeal. I like the typography as well.

For color selection, its usually based on who you're speaking to. For example, if your main consumers are young and hip then you'll want to use colors that will attract this consumer group (i.e. vibrant and trendy colors). Also sometimes important is making literal connections between any embedded meanings in your logo with the color. Dogs are known to be loyal, fun and friendly companions so you might want to choose colors that match such meanings or associated moods. Or maybe go for colors that are cozy and comfortable to match the feeling of a home.

That's how I'd break it down for choosing logo colors. Hope it helps!

I agree with Kio, even if I like more the TOP LEFT version, because I think the empty in the middle balances the writings on his "foot" (talking about "weight" of full and empty spaces).
But surely the right one is more "solid".

Colorwise, all the things Kio said are right, and ALMOST any color will make the job if u think about your audience.
I think u must start to think in "pairs" too. U have already the B/W version of logo, so ok for the contrast, but when u talk about colors for logo... u are talking about colors for the whole brand and corporate image of your client.
So u have to think: Ok, I make the logo orange, would it be good with maybe brown type?
And when u have found the right "double color" scheme, u can apply it to any other application of your client.

something i always forget to think about is how well the colours compliment each other, if you want to be sure your colours are working well together check out the colou wheel http://www.colormatters.com/colortheory.html this article has some preaty good explanations of how to check they will work together.

i like the top ones better i think the strap line in a more delicate font breaks it up well... did you try adding the strap line to the ones on the bottom to see how that looks?
