    Feedback on website redesign

    Hello everyone!

I have been working on a redesign of a site for my client and wanted to get other designers opinions. You can visit the site by going to http://dev.anchorpharmacy.com

    Thanks!

Hello there.. do you have the old design so we can compare the difference...
    Here are my comments...
    1. HOME: the Anchor Drugs Pharmacy text blends with the background and it doesn't stand out. The outer glow effect doesn't seem to help. And I don't like the logo.
    2. the transition of the grass and the bottles isn't smooth enough..
    3. I like the green hues that you chose for the site.. love the pastel green color!
    4. The Buttons on the right side- the one with the "GO" seems to get most of the attention because of its contrasty colors...

But as a whole, when you give a glance at your website... it's already nice...
doing the necessary changes would make it perfect...

    Hi Mohip,

I like the overall feel of your site because it does give off a 'healthy' and natural feel. I like your greens, they're very soothing. And you have a very organized layout.

I guess there are the details you should work on like mentioned by switch above. Your logo is quite blinding to the eye, instead of a glow have you tried a subtle drop shadow? Your logo on the "Health Education" page is much easier to read..I like this banner a lot. And for the buttons down the right side perhaps try just toning down the colours to match the pastely greens of the rest of the site.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi there Mohip!

As usual, despite eventual harsh words or so it's just my personal thoughts and first impressions that hopefully will be used as contructive critisism and help you along the way

    One word: personality

If I understand things right this is a page for two local pharmacy stores? Even if they have services online such as a webshop and that you can look up your prescription status etc the basic thing is that its a physical store with physical people trying to help and serve you.

On the original (old) site you have a somewhat big picture of one of the stores and the overall tone is more personal. I'm afraid that your re-design, even if it's really nice and well structured, good choice and use of colors, it kind of looks like yet another webshop trying to sell you something you don't really want or need.

Try to strengthen the personal aspect of the site with more and a bit larger pictures than now. Also try to emphase that they are trying to help rather than to sell something and that there are real people there to help the customers/visitors. (I like the picture on the 'about us' page of the doctor, use that in a larger version.)

My suggestion would be that instead of the nice but rather generic header graphics you should use more "real" and to the point pictures. A picture of one of the stores on the front page, one of the staff (or a doctor) on the 'about us' page etc. Then you can use the other graphics as eye-candy and fillers in the content so its not just text based.

Hope that made some sense, a bit too early and a bit too much wine last night for me to get all the english words right

    / Tomas
