best freelancer website

so far i have used getafreelancer.com and elance.com for about a month and have got one project from each the one on elace.com paid a lot more but there are so many people bidding on the i havnt been able to get anymore since, getafreelancer.com is good because the standards are a lot lower so i stand out a bit more but the money isn't to much i think it frustrates the buyers a lot too coz a lot of the designers are unskilled! what experiences have other people had with other sites? i think this one looks great and i hopping this is the one!

Never known those sites, but I see that getafreelancer.com requires a monthly payment to "be in the 80% elites who win all projects"...it seems very unfair for people trying to get "a job" to have to pay for it in advance
And they get a percentual of the payment of the job too, so I don't se WHY they have to make customers pay

hmm... i guess i have been in the 20% who dont get the projects then... yeah its not that great a site really! what other ways have people found wirk for finding work?
