I think the cleverness and symbolism of this logo is quite inspired!
Some of you surely have seen this before; it's a great example of logo design - worthy of repeat viewing!

Lots of symbolism for sure.
Designer incorporate many symbols and messages in this logo, and you're right, this is great.
However, my personal filing is that I do not want to have anything with it.... maybe it's because of fire or... I don't know...
IMHO, it's not friendly at all...
BTW, congrats on DT membership, yuo deserved it![]()

HA! How right you are!!
I am certain that the designer(s) had the primary end-viewer and client in the forefront of consideration. Both these groups would (likely) interpret and embrace the symbolism thru a biblical perspective - each of those symbols are widely-accepted, traditional symbols of Christianity. Fire is one.
But you are right, there are those outside of the Christian or Presbyterian audience might not understand any of the symbolism ... it could very easily be seen as a man on fire! Eek!! Or to some churched individuals, the fire could be seen as Hell or 'fire and brimstone'
I wonder if these plausible interpretations were considered during the design or approval phases.
Regardless, I think that the design is entirely effective in its - for lack of a better term - marketplace.
A very clever logo; incorporating so many symbols in such a simple/clean logo is not an easy task, I am sure it has required a lot of brainstorming.
I agree though, the designer could have spent more time thinking where to include the fire, it does look like a man on fire
Actually (sadly), the term is very appropriate. Since when churches have become businesses that require logos? I have seen many church logos and I have received requests for designing such and still, it is hard for me to accept it. Hard to explain but I kinda cannot view with respect a church that has its own logo to distinguish itself from the other churches. A logo has an opposite effect for me in this case, and I am sure, for many others.
Dunno about 'one of the best', but, it's definitely a well thought out.
