    Fonts to use

yeah... sorry for the multiple posts on fonts... but I was going through the forum and looking at all the contests... I wanted to ask...I know you can't use stock images or anything like that... just original work and drawings i'm guessing... but what about fonts? I usually go to dafont.com and find free fonts I could use in layouts and logos, but is that not allowed either? Does EVERYTHING in contest entries have to be totally original? Stupid question I know, but I just don't want to get in trouble if I should enter a logo using Helvetica as my main font you know? Thanks!

any font is OK to use as long as you have permission to use it. Some of the free fonts you get will require you to Purchase or get written concent to use them for commercial aplications (making money w/ em).

If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

Good question. Yes, typography is an exception. You can use 3rd party fonts as long as you have the rights to use them.

well, I would only use dafont when it comes to very "arty" projects when to font functions more like a picture, not as text...

oh definitely not... but i mean when you're doing a logo and need a font to use... not that the font is going to be the entire logo... =)
