    Bullzeye's QUESTION - Presenting work.

He asked this question in a different thread (what program.. for webdesign).

I felt It would get over looked and not answered. Also thought it would be a good subject to expand upon.
    Why? you may ask..
Well I'm not sure about you guys, but for most of my stuff I save it as a JPEG and send it over to the client since it's quick and easy that way.

So let's look at his question...

The layout ya'll use for presenting your work, it looks like a layout of sorts, where you have the FLat Colors, Black/White, and Main areas with the PMS information and Client information at the top... how do you go about having that type of canvas to present your work? is it part of a program or what exactly?.. I like it b/c it looks very professional in the presentation of the work done.

Anyone able to answer that, you could please reply to me here, or at my email

I'd have to agree with him as it does look professional and would make the client feel you are being professional as well.

Since I'm not an Elite designer (yet) I'm not sure if they (the elite) are sent the template to work on or how that works. But you can make your own and use that as the basis for your "Presentation Work" it's not to complicated and would be easy to reporduce. just type the title and Version on each project you're going to precent and use the old Save As + the project title and version.

Now my question.. HOW do you Freelancers and other designers present your work to clients?
If you have a template you use can you post it or explain it?
If you haven't always done this have you noticed a difference when presenting this way as to another way?

    That is all, thanks.

Yea, I found the link where the Elite Designers can download the layout for this site. I downloaded it, so I have something I could use to present work on here.. may learn from it to model my own layout for outside work.

Most the time I'm designing for people locally, so they come over here and as I'm working on it, they are telling me what they like, etc. So they are fine tuning their desire as I'm designing it. Or I will finalize it and send them different versions I've come up with and send it as a Jpeg, or Png file depending if they want a transparent background or not.

If they want changes, of course I always keep the PSD with the layers to add teh ease of editing sections they'd want changed. Then I do what they want modified, finalize it as a jpg, or png, and send it back to them. Usually since I tend to use JpG, I tend to use about 220-225 dpi, or sometime around 120 dpi depending on what I'm designing, and what they want it to be used for.
