not that it could be but it must be.
corporate design is the face of the corporation. example: would you take your security company seriously if they wore clown costumes?

i understand that different. a channel for communication - mostly media, isn't it? a channel needs a sender (the medium) and a receiver (the one who reads it) ... i'd separate there. Business cards or letters may be channels. The Logo is a part of that channel, the content.
A corporate design is a bunch of channels with metadata/content f.e. the logo.
I'd say that firm clothing is a part of corporate identity, not explicit "design" where the corporate design (printing sorts) are a part of it.

My answer to that is "no". It's a bunch of communication channels.
