    Learning FLASH

Does anybody know a great site to learn the in and outs of Flash (with tutorials and what not)? I used to use it quite frequently back some years ago and am trying to back into the flow of it.

    Thanks

a quick google search found me this. Flash Tutorial For Beginners

I'm still honing my skills on other programs but I'll probably start there and run through that. then just google search some more flash tuturials and make my through as many of those as I can.

flashkit.com has been around for ages and has TONS of good tutorials, articles, and examples.

flashperfection.com is probably the second best in terms of quality tutorials.

I learn by doing things hands on though and picking apart completed Flash files. I also get some literature from co-workers, etc sometimes who have more Flash experience than me.

I was struggling with learning Flash at first. As an artist things just were not clicking in my head. My mom got me a book for Christmas called How to Wow with Flash and I learned a lot. It seemed to speak to me more as a designer than a programmer. I have googled a lot of tutorials but that book helped me learn more than any class or online tutorial I had tried up to that point

Flash in itself is not that difficult to learn, especially with the new tweening system in flash cs4. Actionscript 3 is the thing that's more difficult, and one has to learn it in order to add some interactivity to a site.

Lynda.com has some great Flash training software that includes the drawing tools and action-script programming. Of course, they just came out with Flash CS5 which I have on order. Lots of money to buy though, but the Lynda training I don't think is too much. I haven't actually checked, but I have used it.

I advise learning action scripting cause that is the hardest part but worth all the way, cause that is mainly the wow more than just animating things.

I also wanted to learn flash, thanks for the sites.
I'm just wondering if flash CS5's much better than CS4?
I have CS4 but I wanted to know if there's a big difference.

Here's a great site to learn flash, from free video tutorials:

gotoandlearn.com - Free video tutorials by Lee Brimelow on the Flash Platform

The person running the site is working with the Adobe team so he knows a lot about flash.

And here is a link to a video explaining the new features of flash cs5. But I can tell you that the most important addition to flash cs5 is the ability to export your projects as applications for Iphone, which is amazing.

Here's the link to the video explaining the new features:

    gotoandlearn.com - Sneak Peak of Flash CS5

i learned my flash and lot's of other applications from Software training online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more, it's a site with really professional video tutorials...it's not free, but it's worth it...

it's $25 a month, but you have any time access to 42000 tutorials...

    Sites

Lynda.com - this is a great tool, tons of tutorials, you do have to pay a small fee for access but it is worth its weight in gold (or I guess it's bandwidth?)
