    Scanner What's good

OK so my scanner isn't that great... Just look at my community contest entries they loose alot of detail. But for the most part it works for what it does, but I'd like to keep some of my pensil sketches as detailed as I drew them. as a side gig I draw cars and trucks for people in pencil, charcoal and sometimes ink and would like to have to stop using Kinko's to get really clear copies of my work. it doesn't happen that often but figured I've paid kinko's the equivalent of a decent scanner over time.

So I'm going to start hunting for a new (or new used) scanner.

What would you suggest or what do you have that would be a great scanner.

price wise about the middle of the road I'd say, since I dont' have a whole lot of money just to burn.

Great any more information than that. There are different Canon Scaners on the market.

uhoh, i was in search too, first i picked out multifunctional canon mp540, but then i discovered they've updated some of their models ... so right now i'm targeting mp640 (can print cd's, thick paper, a4 borderless photoquality, usb joint and wireless connection + copier and a 9600x4800 scanner (whatever that means, but in pixel depth should be more than enough) in future they'll also make pancakes and coffe i guess. price was around 200 bucks i guess. can't remember very well, better check their website and compare different models

the good thing was separate colour tanks and the sample prints where better than local photoservices have. i think the minuscule dots i saw here and there where actaually poor digital photography, because gradients where seamless allright
