Logo change.
Hi folks
Food for thought
This morning I watch a Sunday news show and one of the stories is about Google
and how they change there logo for special events on there website. In the article they said one the most important things is to your company identity one way.
This one of the quotes from the article "First rule is leave the company identity alone, keep it consistent,”
Here the article The ART of GOOGLE DOODLES
The Art of Google Doodles - CBS Sunday Morning - CBS News
there a video on the left side of the page.
Question is this.. Do you think that it a good rule and why? Do you think that Google is making a tread?
This is post for information and point of veiw purpose. It intended to for discussion purpose only.

Google
I don't feel that the logo itself has been "changed"..In fact their whimsical way of adding a decorative item to celebrate a holiday is endearing and fun.
Wish I'd thought of that!!!

Wondering
I just wanted to say; if any other company can do changes to their logo and get away with it?
For example if Mcdonald change there image then change the color to green and take away the arches.
Do you think that public would like that change?
or coke cola change their color to green or even blue and change the fonts..
Do you think that change would be outrage... Like they had when they change the formula of the coke to new coke formula.
Do you think society change enough today to handle the changes?

The thing is with the google logo they may change it for a special event but they always go back to their original, it doesn't stay different (until the next event comes up).
I'm sure if an iconic company logo or colour was permanently changed the public would take sometime to adjust.
After the public is use to the the change over time they will then grow to love the logo or colour change and forget the original. As they are more than likely to get flooded with advertising and other sorts of media. Engraving the new image in their mind.
