    Trace Tool

When away from computer I may draw something on paper that a want as vector art. I do the following:
    Object/Live Trace/Tracing Options/
Choose "color" and under "Max Colors" the higher number the better detail. Play around with it.
    Click "Trace".

    Then this:
    Object/Live Trace/Expand/
This breaks it apart so you now have vector art you can fine edit. Don't forget to "Object/Ungroup" it. You may have to ungroup a couple of times.

By the way, you can also do this in Flash and then export to Illustrator

    PeN

I definitely love the PEN tool! I think I used it too much though, should probably explore the other tools a bit more. Pathfinder still confuses me :/
