    Yes, they can, but this does not come without flaw. I used to work with Corel, and I would export as an .eps out of corel and open in Illustrator. Sometimes (More times than not) there would be some minor issues. Especially with gradients, clipping paths, etc.

    I personally, don't like to design intricate logos in Corel. Actually, I don't use Corel anymore period but that is besides the point.

    It is a finesse to design logo's in any program and get them to open correctly in another program, depending on what kind of effects you have.

    It is always good to have a bread and butter version of your logo, hence the reason for black/white and flat versions. This way you can recreate any effects you need for full color versions.

    Yes we can change .cdr format into .ai format
