Design Education and Experience
Hello everyone,
I was curious as to how many people here have formal training in design? I recently graduated from a liberal arts school with a journalism degree which put me in a job working for an online newspaper publication. There, I was able to get started with basic designing (more of less created a theme of logos for the publication/partnering publications). With this new interest, I'm considering taking classes to help gain experience and knowledge in design, but after seeing how expensive this can be, I figure I may be better off learning on my own. Anyways, just curious as to your thoughts.
Thanks, and have a good day.

To create a design that works visually and creatively you will most likely need to go to school to get trained. That being said, there are exceptions if you are super talented and don't need to attend school. For example, Andy Warhol (artist) dropped out of my school..lol Remember, why do well known designers make $1000+ because it's not the vectors that cost..it's the concept and quality of work. So, it depends on what quality you assume for yourself. But I'm sure this is a good place to test out your skills.
Bdes here.
