Getting no reply at all. So you wouldn't know if they're even considering you or not, or if you should start over at all. Not really a fear now that I think about it ...just a let down.

I agree, that's worse than getting a criticism. When you feel accomplished with what you've done, then no one bothers to let you know what they think.
