Is InDesign the Quark Killer

well, I grew up quark since v2? use v7 now, good program, but hate the shock to me, I usually work in illustrator(98% of the time)....anyhow waiting for cs3 to arrive, I will try indesign, hopefully convert......anything to make life easier for me...I just do my restaurant menus in (quark now)..will post my converting to indesign thoughts soon....

Quark was great for its time, but now, InDesign is surly going to take over the industry. Its just gonna take sum time for companies to switch over. I agree 100% with Turn, the user interface is horrible for quark compared to InDesign. Indesign is more comfortable to use and anyway, it looks way better.

I use Quark 4 at work. It dives me crazy sometimes... absolutely nuts. At least it's not PageMaker. lol! I love working in InDesign, though. The UI is much nicer, and there are just so many more options available.

I know how to use both, and don't mind using one or the other if I needed to. But I love ID because it uses alot of the same commands as AI and allows me to flow through it at a much rapid pace.

I've been using Quark for years. I'm ready to make the jump to InDesign though. I've used InDesign and it blows Quark away.

The CEO of the company I work at called me yesterday, and asked if I thought it was time to make the switch from Quark to Indesign! I said heck ya!!

Yeah, my company I am at, is not ready for the switch....just cause the copy/text program that we use with it doesn't work with InDesign, but doesn't InCopy work with it?

Ughh...I hate Quark! InDesign is by far superior.

well, still using quark v7( BTW, excellent ) but the one reason I use quark, my restaurants menus, are going through a complete overhaul (we bought new covers, copper, gorgeous, so now all menus will change, and I will build in indesign (no more quark).......so, I guess I'm takin' the indesign plunge, I'll let everyone know how it goes.......

Quark interface and menu are just a big maze to go thru. Also some thing are named differently. What most irritating is dutch translation version of them both. A hell to work with.

I mainly stick with Indesign. Easy and got same color tablet like illustrator and photoshop. Also some tools are the same too.
