Does Go Live Cut the Mustard?

Hi, I've just purchased the Adobe Creative Suite CS2 Premium, and it has Go Live.
I've never used it before but wouldn't mind creating a website.
Is Go Live a good or bad program to use?
If it is bad, what's a good program to use? I will ahve various pages, including a portfolio. Hopefully some animation and sound too.

    Any suggestions?

I can't tell you about Go live but other program for web design is "Macromedia Dreamweaver". The newest version is 8. I work with it and i think it is very good program

I have GoLive and I've been studying how to use it. It looks like it has powerful potential, but it may take some time to become proficient at it. Study it, especially the Cascading Style Sheets features. This is how to get good.

Both GoLive and DW are good programs. If you already have GoLive I don't see why you wouldn't use it. It's a great program, especially if you just doing a small website with a few pages. Have powerful features. Integrates well with creative suite applications (PS, ID). If you'd be doing a full fledged website with a few hundred pages, with server integration, database and other stuff, you might give a thought or two to evaluate other programs as well, but otherwise...

Nothing beats good ol' hand coding, but if you really want a WYSIWYG editor go with Dreamweaver. GoLive is unfortunately very difficult to use (compared to Dreamweaver) and its overall interface seems "clunky" to me.

Yea, my current website is in Dreamweaver and I found it quite easy to use.
I think I'll give Go Live a shot as I'd like to see exactly how integrated the Creative Suite is. SOunds like I'm in for some fun though!

    GoLive vs Dreamweaver

I am using both... for CSS I use GoLive.. much easier but if you want to use the javascripts, Dreamweaver write better code to my experience.... otherwise they are very much the same in terms of functions.
