    Where does this belong???

Hi guys (and girls ) I have just spilled my heart and soul into my companies new site over a few late nights and countless cups of coffee, which now leaves me trying to find a $$ friendly company to host my new site.

My company offers, web/graphic design, cd-rom and online advertising e.g banners and splash pages. This thread is to see whether there are any kind, generous people out their that are willing to share their web space or offer free hosting in replace for free advertising on my website (also directing/advising my clients to invest with your hosting company). I viewed the thread posted by 'takethetrain' View Thread but it seems they have been shut down. I suppose I am going to get the responses, if you’re a company shouldn't you be able to afford your own hosting. Well the fact is… I simply can't afford it and I have only just completed year 12, and after been burned by 2 (anonymous) web design companies I have decided to venture out for myself.

It a bit soppy I know, but I thought it would be worth a try.

    Hi adam,

I know you don't want to hear this.. but you should be able to afford hosting. There are some really great hosts out there that supply hosting for around $30 /year, which is quite cheap.

Free hosting is simply not reliable enough to run a business.

The company I use (and have had EXCELLENT support from) is BliksemHosting @ http://www.bliksemhosting.com

Their website needs a lot of work, but their services are great. I pay $10/month for a reseller account, but they do have a plan for $36/year.

In the past I have also used http://yrhost.com. The service was OK, but not that great. There were times when my site would go down for a couple hours, which I wasn't that impressed with. They have a $10/year plan though, so for that cheap the service should be acceptable.

I hope that helps some. Just be careful if you are looking for yourself, many cheap hosts can start up and disappear vey quickly. Both Bliksem and yrhost have been around for quite some time though.

My hosting is $21 a month total of about $250 a year. I will stay with it though, 24/7 Real tech support (English speaking techs that REALLY do help ) And all the Security It's not bad..... not bad at all for $21 a month

You usally get what you pay for in the world of Hosting. That $4-$5 a month...well I would never trust it for anything! You be the judge though..I'm just willing to pay a bit more

I used to use Parcom which has accounts for as low as $41.25 a year. But I was concerned about downtimes so I switched to Dreamhost which starts at $9.95 a month.

you might want to try www.doteasy.com for a brochure type website. For two years, I have been using their $29 plan which includes both domain name and hosting for 1 year. I've never had problems with them so far. For an e-commerce site though, youll have to add $7.95 a month.

My website is hosted by NorthTrex for $0.60 (sixty cents) a month, with plenty of bandwidth to spare. Unfortunately they no longer offer packages like this, but take a look at http://webhostingtalk.com/ to find some cheap hosting packages.
