Illustrator is a godsend...
Am I the only one who once feared illustrator, but has grown attached to it? I love the versatility of it. It's very easy to manipulate designs and I am constantly using it to recreate logos using raster graphics as templates. Once u go vector, it's hard to go back.

I was many years CorelDraw! fan, always finding a way not to switch to Illy. That application allways had strong productivity tools comparing to Illy. Finally, few years ago, when i realised that there would be no new versions of it for OSX, gave it a try. Needless to say that last three years a haven't got slice desire to start some graphics in Draw.

I've always loved illustrator, but couldn't wait for it to incorporate two things that CD and FH had for YEARS, transparency and multi-page/print settings support. I think since version 9(?) AI has supported transparency, still lacks the ability to have a transparent color in a gradient (like FH, CD and Flash) so you have to use an opacity mask, but it's nice that it's there at all now.
AI still doesn't have multi-page support natively though (you need a hotdoor pluggin). And i really miss the way in freehand you can have multiple artboards with different sized and corresponding dynamic printer settings. That was great.

Ha ha...I was so scared of Illustrator, now I'm it's biggest fan! I had to get to grips with it very quickly thanks to changes at work, and am so grateful!
When I have to do something in Photoshop now I struggle to get back into it!

I've started using Illy only a couple of months ago, at first it was hard to understand, but now it seems pretty easy, though I don't like some features of it, like applying a gradient. ))=
Colors are too complicated to set up, compared to PS.

Illustrator is my favourite program...bar none. I wish it had multiple page document support as well... I remember when I first started using it - the first day was so frustrating...kept expecting fill and stroke to be foreground/background. Once I got past that it was smooth sailing. Ohhh and bezier curves...not fun to learn at first either.

I too mostly use photoshop. But I just started to learn illy. It's so much better once you get the hang of everything.
