    Illustrator? Freehand?

    Hi everyone!!
I've seen some really good work here.
I was wondering... what do you use for vector work?
I used Freehand all my life, but i think i'll change...

    Hi Swede action.....
I first learned freehand(years ago) than illustrator, to me illustrator just seemed easier, more comfortable to use, its all bout that, whats easier for YOU.....it seems the majority is illustrator though......

I agree with Rinaldi ... You should'nt worry because Adobe is going to keep FreeHand and Illustrator seprate and not merge them into one (the same goes for the other Macromedia-Adobe matchups i.e. GoLive-Dreamweaver, Photoshop-FireWorks etc..etc...)

So learn what you like ...

I learned in Freehand, but migrated to Illustrator on my own, and haven't turned back since!

Plus, you never know if down the road a bit Adobe may get rid of Freehand - would think they would rather keep their own program??

I started in Illustrator, and then tried Freehand.... For me, Illustrator is the best.

I'm just starting Illustrator - and it's going to take some time lol because I'm so used to doing things with strictly Photoshop! Some of the things are confusing - took me an hour to figure out how to change the color of the Gradient tool haha!

Online Tutorials help alot though, that's how I learned how to use Photoshop about 8 years ago. Practice practice is all I need to do though, I'm sure I'll catch on sooner or later! - I'm glad I got Illustrator though, seeing now that alot of people prefer it for certain things. Great post!

I am using Freehand since I bought my first macintosh. it was more than 15 years ago. I heard that Illustrator is more inspirative, but I think I will stick to Freehand.

Now everyone has to change to Illustrator since Adobe bought Macromedia. I do not believe at all that Adobe is keeping Freehand in CS3 or further Versions. Freehand will go under sometimes, I guess.
