I am just a beginner, but I would love to try. And being a beginner I would definitely charge less. See some of my sketches at http://epifanov.ru
Another option is to start an illustration contest. But in this case I would recomend putting a higher contest prize to attract illustrators.
Anyway, what kind of illustration are you looking for?
