    Sketches and final version

I wonder if its good to let the client to see the sketches first or not. Like website and logo the sketches are not 100% same as the result and not always give a good look. While the final logo looks very good.

At school we always need to let them see some of the sketches and need to make 15 different version always. But mainly here I just show the end result of the logo.

-I need to make the sketches and show final and let the teachers/client comment on the final and improve that one.
-Or let them see the process between the steps and already get comment and that way could avoid having to improve the final version.

Also my school is running on competence's points. I already got allot of second years points in the first year. But mainly i don't get the point for advising the client. What advice do I need to give him, or do I just need to smooth talk them. Or talk more and let him see the process better?

What I do is brainstorm then sketch out several ideas, However, I only show the client my top three ideas as sketches, to see if I am on the right track. Sketches are quick and dirty, but the basic concept is there.

If they like them I will go to screen then design...Otherwise I make more sketches untill I am on track.

This eliminates a lot of waisted time on screen. And rather than designing stuff on screen that the client may or may not like....your only designing ideas that they already approved.

    I agree with jesse101 points....
I'd rather have the clients general direction down before computer time, through the sketching process.....
