Smile Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw?

I just wants to know here, which one is most popular used by designers in DC for vector design program, Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw?.

I know that *.ai is the most standard filetype in vector, but i still used Corel Draw to design coz it's easier than Adobe Illustrator.

But sometimes i got troubles when convert *.cdr to *.ai, mostly when used special effect like color shading and transparancy.

I think there was a thread just like this somewhere, I'll see if I find it and post a link here. As far as I remember the results were quite close too ^^

    Question on Corel Draws proffesionality:
    Corel Draw! Not professional enough?

Discussion on logo applications (Ps, Illustrator, Corel and so on:
    logo design software

I assume there is a lot of threads concerning these things so just take a round and look

Save it as EPS. Eps can handle vector and very common used file.

Thanks, Chung Dha, i have tried it. But when I opened *.EPS in Adobe
Illustrator it's look loose some effect there..

This happen mostly when i design logo in web 2.0 style.

Hmmm, i never do that.. I Think it's wasting time because mostly source of logo needed in vector files type not bitmap so it can enlarge without problem. So why not directly create in vector programs? Also i think it's easy to modify.

I know that it is best in illustrator but you can do a lot of nice and complicated logo in photoshop.

What do you mean nice and complicated? I think vector program right now can handle some great effect too, ex: drop shadow, transparent.

Save your CorelDraw file in 10 version.
Open this cdr file in Adobe Illustrator.
(this will maintain your transparency & colour shading)
May be you have little bit modify in Illustrator.

    ADD

When you place things from eps in illustrator don't forget to embed it. That way you get the vectors and everything so you can edit it.

All effect en filter in photoshop make bitmap/pixel effects. Only effect you can use for logo are the layers blending and the transparancy of the layers. Those do not effect the quality of the logo when you resize them to a larger scale.

I think Illustrator is the better choice, first of all the interface or environment is more friendly than corel, and compatibility with the rest of the suite is important to extend your logo to other aplications, prints, animation, video or web. Notice that corel export all kind of formats but try to find an app that exports in CDR.

Yes I agree with grphx, I use it for a lot of years now and the program has a lot of possibilities and it's easy to use and understand. Working with Illustrator is really nice..

I like using Illustrator waaaay better. I think it's easier than Corel Draw. But that's probably because it's what I started with.

    Does anybody still use Quark?

Quark Express is a layout design program, which is a different kind of program than a vector design program. You can't compare things in different categories.
