    Visualisers

Yesterday i had a conversation with one of the most succesfull visualisers from holland. He said holland has only about 80 professional visualisers, wich can make illustrations digitaly, and "by hand". I think it's really special these people can draw everything you say.

I think visualisers shut be more respected for the work they create. 90% is work for concept designs, cause instead of the illustrations, people will use photo's etc.

How is this in the USA? 80 prof. visualisers in Holland, 300 prof visualisers in the USA?

There are 16 million people in the little country called Holland. But the country with the best Industrial designers in the World.

Don't think there are so little visualizers in Holland. Also the direction visualization is very hard to study and it is only drawing on paper and no experience with the pc. Also allot of people drawing, objects and not allot of design. Also don't even know where they would end up. Most become artist but can't do much, they could become an art teacher or make drawing and painting but not become famous with them. Also can't become a graphic designer because they lack the experience the programs.

Those creative people often become freelance visualizers, like the visualizers on www.roughmen.nl the top 10 greatest dutch visualisers works for roughmen. They started drawing on paper, but in 3 months they were able to draw on wacom tablets. I think visualising is a thing you can't learn. Im very creative, and like to draw caricatures and stuff, but that's it. a good visualiser is able to draw everything you wish. As fast and superb as possible.

Seem most of them are storyboards makers or comic strip artist. Or sketch of how things should look like. Not really impressed by the works cause some are not 100% sketch drawn only. And drawing comic strip style ain't that special while they have learned to drawn stuff realistic, I see more comic art then realistic drawings.

You should count Industrial designer to visualizer they can draw everything and also draw thing that does not exist yet very detailed and realistic and not in a comic style.

Okay, but drawing new product concepts is not the same as creating ads etc. If you need a quick sketch rough visual/drawing, im sure industrial designers cant do that as fast as visualisers.

are you impressed when i tell that those storyboards are created in 1,5 hours?

Depends on if they made them plus the story or just only the storyboards.

I'm from Singapore.. and i can tell you that visualisers/illustrators here are scarce. You will be able to count in 1 hand the number of good visualisers/illustrators. All you visualisers/illustrators around the world, come to Singapore! Seriously, i think because of the era of computers and softwares, they are becoming extinct.
