It all depends on niche of website. If it was dating site: My color: RED/Orange,
if it was business related: then Plain White and Dark Blue,
If it was Music site: then something black with Light Green.....

........ and the list goes on.

p.s. I am not that great designer

Blue, Green/cyan, orange and yellow makes a nice scheme.

Pretty much anything except deep purple/blue works for me

As most people have said, it mostly depends on the type of website. Usually, I prefer modern colours and sometimes a colour-scheme which clashes but flows at the same time..

I also like mono colour schemes which make effective use of colour simply for highlighting and emphasis..

However, I usually just end up with a 2/3 tone scheme...and it's impossible to say what the colours will be - as long as they're distinguishable.

I do not prefer any colors. A designer must keep total objectivity with work, he has to use what the client needs, not to surrender by own subectivity and preference capricious. So I would say ... color preferences are bad sign ...

No meen to offend, but that´s the way I was taught.

    Good luck!

It depends on each project, each client is different and has different needs, but as an illustrator I like exploring contrasting colors that usually do not work and see what happens.

I almost always end up using shades of purple, blue, green and some deep reds. I try to shy away from tints and pure hues unless a client would prefer those.

I really like anything complimentary. Shades of blue and orange together is probably my favorite combination.

I like all of 'em but most of the time I love dark colors as it makes the artwork look more innovative/modern.

but I really enjoy with all of 'em.
I find that very bright colors are sometimes very unnecessary and they kinda suck :P.

Definitely blue. I don't really know how that happens but I end up using blue as the main color most of the times.
So I really like the blue/orange schemes but I also like the combination of dark-red/black/white very much.

    Talking Colors

Hello. I find that in my designs the colors black, white, red and blue seem to come up a lot. I also like to to a lot of black and white designing. I never really knew why, its just something I always did. Awesome Question by the way!!

I usually like cool colors : light green/blue
But in case of working for someone else I really cannot use colors which I prefer. Have to go with the client

It depends for me what the client is looking for, but i really despise using black, cream, and brick red. Focusing mainly in the sports industry i can't help but cringe with all of the brick red and cream sets out there, it's cool for about an hour then blah. some colors that i have had success with ( just the general names) purple, orange, yellow, black, white, gold (all in one logo i might add
