Hi BBR,
Thanks for your comments. I decided to take the martial arts concept a bit further and morphed the character to look like japanese writing. I went solid with the belt representative circle to tie in the whole asian theme. I think it's much cleaner and stronger. Let me know what you think.
Thanks

designumber18 - Thank you for your entry! I appreciate that you've taken into consideration our comments regarding color, design pattern, round, use of belt, etc. I just discussed this with another person and we think it "feels" like a 'conversation bubble' that might be seen in a cartoon...probably the way that the ends of the belt trail out of the rest of the round graphic.
The Blackbelt logo/badge is suppose to be in white circle. Since it is the higher rank it needs to stand out better - being a black and white combo shows the characteristic of a good master. A master that has acquired all the skills need not show off his true color. A Yin (Action) and Yang (Stillness) which enables him to "be calm outside", "be rigorous inside". Like in fight, the one with the normal state of mind always win.
But let me show you how it looks in grey as requested. Thank you.
color variations.

geek - LOL...I did a poor job of phrasing my point. I meant to pose a hypothetical instead of a literal question. I wasn't making a request to see it in grey, but rather was simply 'wondering out loud'. ...my mistake. Actually, I do like the white and appreciate your explanation on colors!![]()
sorry, I wanted to keep only the simbol, after that I changed my mind, and I forgot to change the text, but here is with the correct text.
