I'm starting a new boudoir photography site with my friend in the NYC/NJ area. The name of the business is NYC Boudoir. We hope to specialize in high end boudoir and glamor portrait sessions. The logo needs to be feminine, sophisticated, slick and a little sexy with out being trashy. I have a boudoir site and I would like you to go there and look at the type of photos we take. the web address is www.robinowen.com click on the boudoir link located on the splash page. OK about the logo...
The girl will have to go. It reminds me of the girl on the mud flaps of a big truck or on signs you see for strip clubs. We want to stay far away from that type of image.
Also I know the color can be changed but we are not going to use pink in our color scheme. Boudoir Divas www.boudoirdivas.com uses that and we want to go in a totally different direction. Moody, sexy & expensive is how I want the web site to look. We don't have the web site yet. Logo first.

Think Rolls Royce, champaign, Pearls, New York city lights, understated elegance Refinement, grace, Tasteful opulence, A little sassy, confident,
refined beauty.

The curve of a womans body in the logo would be fine but I would rather see
more of an outline of a torso, hip, leg, breast, made with just a few strokes or lines. Not sure how to explain that.
I would like the NYC to be a little more dramatic and the boudoir to be a bit more readable. Not so fancy.

My business partner Neil is going to chime in on this tonight too . He has a way with words and may make things clearer.

I like both those designs.

oscard -- I originally did think of using purple as a thematic colour, but now I wonder though if the purple wouldn't make it less flexible to be used on a business card and the website and a blog.

illumina ... I like that design a lot! Very elegant.
My first perception though was that the line on the graphic that is the girl's panties .. looks like a bird. Robin though said she immediately saw the graphic lines for what it is.

Neil and I love your design and Illumina's design. he likes yours a tad bit more and I like hers a little more. The only issue I have with yours is if you did not know the name was NYC boudoir I think the NYC would be a little hard to read. You would have to look at it for a couple of seconds to figure it out.
I want the logo to be supper easy to read.

For my second concept I took the silhouette of the hip and stomach, added a little dimension to it, and changed the text. Feedback appreciated

very pretty logo but I'm not loving the Chinese looking lettering.

I tried to choose a font that had a similar curvature of the letter "Y" which represents the curves of a woman's body in NYC but looking back I agree with you that it failed to do so. I changed to a font that does not compete with the graphic. Better?

Wow intrepidguppy!
Love it... Can you make her arms stand out just a bit more. she looks a little armless. Maybe make it look like her hands are lightly holding the letters... Don't want the arms to overpower it but have them stand out more.
