    Perfect Cents - $230 - August 10th

    Forum Username: Perfect Cents

Company Details: Australian-based personal financial coach. Helping couples, individuals and families who are struggling to set/maintain a budget, reach their savings goals, or reduce their debt.

    Type Of Contest: Logo Design

Contest Title: Perfect Cents - $230

    Contest Deadline: 10 August

    Prize Amount: $230

Colors To Be Used: Preferably shiny green and shiny orange

Example URLs: Perfect Cents - will be redesigned based on the new colours & new logo. http://catransco.org/News/Blog/wp-co...-lightbulb.jpg http://www.imageenvision.com/md/stoc...ollar_bill.jpg

Looking for a clean logo that's easy to read from a distance. Potential for business card & stationery design also. If a graphic is used, I like the idea of it being more of a "mascot" such as the URLs above. If it's not that style of graphic, then it should be small so the text has the most focus. Can potentially use ".com.au" in the logo. Or slogan such as "personal financial guidance" or similar. Specific target market is generally females in their early 30s, but more broadly the 25-45 age group. Please note that the Australian dollar sign has only 1 slash, and the cent sign has no slash at all.
You MUST be an Elite Designer to enter the contests. Please go to www.designcontest.com and follow the link that says "Love to Design" to get more information and the requirements for joining. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Just to give you an idea of the sort of green & orange I had in mind: Wix.com - Website built by PerfectCents based on Blank Website

However feel welcome to suggest other colour schemes (I'm rather fond of the green tho :P)

I am pleased to present my first concept for your logo. As you can see the money bill and the coin form a letter "P" for Perfect and the coin is notched out so that it doubles as the "C" for Cents. The colors relate to the words appropriately as well. I look forward to your reaction, thanks.

Thanks Cincytodd, it'll be great to see this contest start to get moving

This design is probably not quite the look I'm hoping for, and probably a reflection of the lack of detail I provided in my inital spec - apologies.

For inspiration, consider my appreciation of your work on Taylor Leigh Construction & Panorama Marketing in terms of style (also prefer those shades of green than traditional "money green"), even your Biscuiti Blue & Oskar are really lovely.

I'd like for whatever graphic is used to be understated so that the text is the focus, unless it's a "mascot" in which case it could be more obvious.

Graphic suggestions (potentially abstract) include light bulb, tick, aus currency sign, piggy bank... I'll keep thinking! Thanks again!

Thank you for the quick feedback and nice comments. I hope my second logo entry more closely resembles your vision. The text is more dominant and the symbol is a supporting graphic.

    Definitely closer here, ta.

    1. Can I see some different colour combinations? Not loving the aussie green & gold look.

    2. Can I see some different fonts & font effects, altering the graphic to compliment where necessary.

    3. How would you change it to utilise the perfectcents.com.au instead of the tag line? And can we try it with just the title, "Perfect" above and "Cents" below?

It'd be so much easier if I actually knew what I wanted don't you think?!

Firstly, love your work on the Push design Baiskee - well done. Your portfolio is great too.

For this logo, you've got the darker green and orange spot on. Maybe if other colours are needed you can try navy instead of black & maybe grey?

I love the shine effect on the... is it a coin? a C? Perhaps that's an indication it needs to either be more obvious... or even more abstract for me anyway.

I really like the font too.

I'm trying to come up with some other 'slogans' too, as I'm not sure personal financial guidance is right... "solving money worries" , "home budgeting made simple' ? Suggestions?! Or just leaving it out all together...

Perhaps another take on combining the P & C?

Thank you for the kind comments and feedback.

The inspiration was a coin putting into a piggy bank... of course, with much professional and modern web 2.0 feel.

I'll work on the P&C initials.

    Cheers!

I see it now! I like that idea! Can we make it a bit more obvious? Maybe the pigs back can be an arc over the writing, and the coin on an angle?

I'm also thinking that just "financial coach" is enough, can probably drop the 'personal'. I would like to have something clever that gets what I do across though... don't know how.

Other ideas are a money bag with perfect above and cents below.
    or
Sleek clean font for perfectcents.com.au with some abstract coins through the middle/behind the text.

I'll know it when I see it!

    Revision...

Curve coin slot. A hidden lying letter P and letter C as the coin.

Ahhh Vovikus, I've been looking forward to you weighing in - after seeing your Cash Monster and Mad Smarts logo I knew you were just the person to take on the mascot angle!

    Love the piggy, VERY cute!

Can we try a different take on the PC combo (or even just a dollar symbol), making the coin a little more coin like.

With the business name, can we try a different font (something a little less formal but still clear & smoothe) with lower case P & C and run the words together?

    Thanks!

    Hello again Perfect Cents

Hopefully the third time is the charm and saved my best entry for last. What do you think of my last entry?

Very Clever!! I like idea... though I'm not sure if the "C" would be noticed if I didn't already know it was supposed to be there?

    1. Working with this idea I would like the hand to be more abstract, and the font more crisp.

    2. If I were to pick from your 3 entries, the 2nd would be my choice. I like the dollar & cents symbols combined and would be happy to see you build on that idea, with different fonts & effects, different placement of text etc.
