Thank you for this I like it the best out of your designs so far, I am not sure if you plan on tweaking it, could you show me some other color options?
    Thanks

Very nice Coy, I have a feeling you will be doing more contests, I love it, great idea, great color, great concept.

One problem: the icon is a collet, it is a very specific piece of tooling that is used in our industry, I am afraid that if people see the image they will think we sell collets, can you think of another icon?

    thanks

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...m/misc/3-3.jpg

Hi Baiskee, I am a fan of many of your designs in other contests, but I am sorry I just don't like either entries, can you go back to the drawing board? In both cases the yellow in the light bulb or gear remind me of an Inca sun or something.

I had a light bulb in my original logo (my amateur attempt) I like the message of turning on the light and "one world", but I really don't have any attachment to the lightbulb concept, it's not relevant.

    thank you all great work

After looking at this a little more, I like this portion, the .net below is good, perhaps a little work on the iconic e

Thank you for the feedback. I had that feeling in the back of my mind as well, since the collet is a part and not the actual process. I'll have my next submission soon.

Thank you Baiskee, I like this the most of your entries, I like the font, and the colors. I am not completely sold on the large E, but perhaps... I wonder if you took our the small e at the beginning and moved the larger E into place, how it would look?

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/misc/2-1.jpg

Hi Coy I prefer this design, I like the color and simplicity, could you play with lower case in the lettering, also if you could replace the collet with an abstract symbol, something iconic
    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/misc/4-2.jpg

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/misc/3.jpg

Thank you NHR, this is a really strong entry, I love it, could we see the icon moved slightly toward the lettering just to test proportion.

If you have additional ideas I look forward to seeing them.

Thank you everybody, I appreciate the amount of work that is going into this.

Let's see if I saved my best for last. It seems to me the drill is a very important part of these machines and a part that an apprentice would get to know very well so it was the inspiration for the "ea drill symbol" in my 3rd entry. I look forward to your reaction.

Actually, The icon is a play of the letters "a" and "E" as shown here.

Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

I didn't pick up on the A, that certainly make it cooler, can you adjust the icon to make the A read better?

I will give feedback on all of the the new designs a little later on today
    Thanks

Thanks My 3rd and final concept is based off my first since you liked that one. adapted the lower case lettering as requested. I also based this off of some CAD stuff I was doing last night minuse the sqare base.

I felt my 2nd (post #25) would fit into your "abstract symbol, something Iconic" statement if you wanted to explore any revisions.

    Thank you for the feedback.

I like the font and color, but not the drill icon, it is creative, but takes the logo out of proportion for my banner ad and favicon, could you take the ea concept from your second submission and apply it to this font and color scheme?

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/2.jpg
Could you try a different color scheme and firm up the ea in the icon, if it was a little more obvious it might be right

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/3.jpg
nice color sceme, nice font, could the logo squeeze together a little top to bottom, to be not so elongated, I think the icon needs to be relatively equal in X and Y proportion to work as a favicon

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/4.jpg
still strong, i would prefer if the e and a in the font came all the way in to close the loop, I like modern fonts, but am not a big fan of altering letters. The icon still needs something else. Have you look at a mill or lathe spindle nose? that might work with your 3D effect.

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/5.jpg
this is one of the front runners for it's clarity and simplicity, but may be a little too "safe" I wonder if you could combine some of the elements from your two entries to refine the design

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/6.jpg
This is a beautiful color scheme and font, but the other EA is far too apparent in the logo, I would like to see how some lowercase lettering would look, possibly with the e or a capitalized, it is also very important that .net be part of the equation (people often make the dot.com mistake)

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/7.jpg
Nice color scheme, the font is a little too far out for me, I like the icon, what does it represent? also see my comments for both designs above

    http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...gmc/logo/9.jpg
This one is starting to grow on me, I am starting to like the idea of just using the eapprentice.net, and then separating the icon and using it as the favicon, I like the icon and the typography, I just can't see them together yet, perhaps at different places on the page. Could you try to define the A just a little, to make it show up, it may be just a shadow or light curve coming around the top right side.

    Thank you all

As requested, I took the font and color scheme from my last entry (above) and blended it with my second submission. In doing so I tried to salvage the drill idea and incorporated it into the "e" to give it some separation with the "a".

    Hello,
Sorry for the late submission. This is my take. I wanted to give the EA a routed out of metal look. I also went for a simple iconic symbol that at first glance wasn't readily identifiable as the EA but more as an ambiguous icon. What do you think? Any feedback is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dongerz
