    Hi Karen,
I'm really glad you like it. I'm glad you asked about the colors. I'm actually partial to the cornflower and mustard combo but I don't see it being the best color combo for your website. I think you need something a little more rich and contrasting to compliment the incredible drama you capture in your photos.

Here I showed the original again for comparison plus 3 new color options That I thought would work well with your site. 1.1 shows a bit of a richer blue to contrast the mustard more. 1.2 uses a dark grey and mustard combo that seems to work well on your site now and 1.3 I decided to use a mahogany and more of a gold leaf color instead of the mustard. I think this combo stands out the best for me not to mention I think it works best with your intro photo. Of course if you decide to go this way I would recommend changing the mustard on the site to match the gold leaf.

Thanks again and please let me know if there are any other color combos you'd like to see.

I did have in my minds eye something very similar to this where the initials are working to establish some identity and remembrance with my name. And then the name written out is the punctuation at the end. I like it very much!
    Thank you for the feedback

I Robyn, Thanks for your submissions, and I see from your second go that you are approaching it from an Asian aesthetic (it's from English century)- which is something I did not consider initially. I like the subtlety of the first one better than the second, but had some questions about the ( leaf?) symbol coming off the square in the center (the first entry, it's a perspective from the outside to the inside, with the light at the center, and added a sutbly leaf for an interior art sense, maybe i missed the rays . What does that refer to? I'm not too crazy about the color choice as I don't see it working with my current website (okay i will make a new tweaks about it). The second design ( logo part) seems a little too ornate for my tastes, although I like the type choice in my name. Simple, calm, centered, laid back , expressive with my lighting techniques, and a love of the technical side of shooting interiors- that's me.
    Thanks!
    Karen
Thanks too, i will post a revision on my 1st entry.

This concept features your initials to create the mood that resembles your photography. It has dimension and lighting drama with the K casting a shadow that turns into the M. Simple, yet elegant.

Hi Coy, I am seeing now that this is your thinner version. Im thinking even thinner - like how modern style type appears in it's original form without bulking it up. for instance if the written name type s 14 points, the initials would be say, 60 points without much manipulation to make them thick. Can you try a very similar type styles in a large but not too bulked up state? I like it clen, simple, elegant.

    Thanks,
    Karen

    Hi Dongerz,

I think I like the 1.2 the best, but maybe back off the gray a bit to something lighter gray ( in my name only) I'm thinking the icon could have even more gray( black in the edges to create a bit more contrast). Do you think this work work best with my existing website? Do you see the logo on the upper right position on my website where it is now, or to the upper left. The program is changeable so I can place it either area. Also do you think the icon is position best within your design, What would you think of moving the WINDOW M icon to be above but flush with left margin type( right above the k). Thanks for your variations.

I'll also have a look at your headers again and if you wish can post it in the header.

I have a few obligations to finish up on my end but will have something for you later today.

Oh the one you linked in your first comment was my first version.

OK so I let the other stuff wait while I made some variations for you.

I left these black and white for you to view them at their most bare form.
we can go anywhere in between, round off corners whatever you like.
I'll add some color to once you've found a thickness that is appealing to you.

    Hi Karen,
Here are the suggestions you gave me. I do think the 1.2 combo goes well with the existing site. Overall I think 1.2c works better than 1.2b because it helps to define the "m" in Melvin. Although for the website I believe 1.2a is the best solution. I think 1.2a and 1.2c can both be used as your company logo. Many companies utilize different layout versions of their logo depending on the parameters of the live area available. Hope that makes sense.

Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to see.

    Thanks

Hi Dongerz, I think you may have not gotten my last post, but my hubby agrees that the blue yellow is more fun and has at least shaved 19 years off my image. So where do we go from here? I do have a few slight changes in the colors to make. Can you send me your email and phone and we can chat outside of the forum?
    thanks,

    Hi Karen,
You're right, I must have missed the blue/yellow comment. That's funny. I agree the blue/yellow combo is a bit more youthful and whimsical while the grey/gold combo is a bit more classic and aged. We can go with whatever colors you feel fits you best. I'd be happy to work off-forum with you to "tweak" the colors. You just have to let DC know you've chosen me as the winner if you indeed are choosing me as the winner. I don't want to be presumptuous, you've got a lot of great options here. Anyway, let us know.

    Thanks,
    Dongerz

Thanks for officially choosing my design. Send me a PM of what you're thinking of the colors and we'll get it finalized.
