    Arts & Education Consultant - $215 - Dec. 25th

    Forum Username: 121it

    Type Of Contest: Logo Design

Contest Title: Arts & Education Consultant logo design

    Contest Deadline: 25th December 2009

    Prize Amount: $215

Colors To Be Used: Designers choose

Our client Sue has asked us to use Design Contest to create a logo for her new consultancy. Sue has worked for the UK education and arts department and is launching her own consultancy. The text below is from her:
"Arts&Education I'm not sure how to handle the Arts&Education bit – I'd like it woven into the design if possible. This is quick summary of the impression I'd like to give: My recent experience has involved devising and implementing national strategy and policy for education and the arts. I have led major national reforms for schools and am able both to build on current practice and to introduce innovative ideas. I am a pragmatic problem solver as well as an analytical thinker. I am also involved at local level, for example as school governor. I am on the board of 3 harities, and chair of one of them, a large national book charity. I have spoken to audiences around the world. I believe in the power of education and of the arts to improve people's lives and enhance their imaginations and cultural experience."
Having had our logo created by the Design Contest, I'm hoping you will be able to use the above and produce a good looking logo for Sue. I look forward to seeing the results. Thanks everyone.

First entry. I blended two letters into a symbol, which also is a rapresentation of disorder of art + order of education. Thanks for looking.

Ok. Firstly a big thanks to all for the designs and sincere apologies for the delay in responding.

Sue has given some feedback on TheNutz design: "A&E in the UK is an acronym for Accident & Emergency!. Yikes. So whilst the weave/blend was great, this cannot continue as such.

Sue has also requested that the Mandarin character for Su be incorporated. I have this as a jpeg, how do I get it to you all? I'll read more and attempt, please feed back asap on this point.

General feedback from sue that will be most likely be useful to all is:
"...I don’t like the A&E on its own and so large. The Chinese character we have now supplied would be better. I also think it’s too traditional in font. If I’m trying to be imaginative and arty it needs to be a bit more modern. In terms of colour, maybe terracotta or a deeper red is worth a try, though it needs to be photocopiable. The layout with the other information is also important..."

The other information referred to is contact details:

    Name: Sue Horner
    Tel: XXXX (to be advised)
Email:*email will be provided at a later date*
Web: Web hosting, domain name registration and web services by 1&1 Internet

I think getting the logo right is of primary concern and then we can lay it out on A4 paper, business cards, compliment slips, etc.

Over to you skilled people and thanks again.

You can use photobucket to host the image and post a link here or send it to nevadabadgirl and she'll post it for you.

Just to be clear, this contest is for logo only. The CH's printer can put it on the stationary, envelopes, etc., or there can be a seperate contest for print materials.

    Hi,

This is the result of my work.
The symbol in the logo is used in mathematics equations (in the logo means science, education) and you can find it on a violin (in the logo, also means art).

It's simple, serious and easily recognizable.
I'm looking forward to know your opinion.

    Dear all,
Thank you for your designs. I am going to ask Nevadabadgirl for a week extension on this one. Please could all designers remove "Consultant" from the designs and resubmit.
    Thanks

Ok, lovely designers. Some more feedback for you to work on:

    Coy:
Yours is the closest so far.
...I wonder if the letters in the words beneath need to be capitals. I’d like to see the same design with smaller or lower case lettering. I’m a bit concerned that the colour in the colour version is a bit pale though the black and white one if OK...

    Everyone else:
...I think the others make the Chinese character too prominent and so could cause mixed messages...
I guess this means make it smaller or reduce its impact somehow.

I look forward to seeing the results.
    Thanks as ever.

    Hi there,
Can we extend ten days please? The UK/USA time difference is tricky for us.

Here is a revision. Changed the colors up and two new fonts. not sure if you wanted more corporate or playful type of fonts. took out the Consultant as requested.
