Blazen,
Are those hands in the cross? I can't tell and when I look at I see the number three. I think this is an improvement, but I still think it is difficult to tell what the message is being conveyed.

Here are my (first two) entries, your client will
probably be able to tell you where the idea for
the grid comes from. Feedback is always nice!

All,
I have spoken with the client and the reviews continue to be strong. Here is what I want to do in an effort to be fair to all. There are currently a handful of strong designs that we would like to focus on to save everyone else time and effort. That said, however, it would not be fair to those of you that have been working the past day or two on a new design to be submitted. For this reason I am hoping that everyone will be ok with the following proposal:
At 5 pm EST tomorrow (8/3/2004) we will stop accepting new submissions. I will announce the finalists tomorrow evening after discussing with the client any new submissions and provide feedback to those finalists regarding suggested opportunities for improvement. After announcing the finalists, we will select a winner on August 7th, as we have committed.
I have read all of the rules and believe that this approach is staying within the spirit of the rules. Furthermore, I hope all of you understand that this is an approach that is intended to focus efforts on those logos the believes is in best alignment with his concept.
If for some reason this is not acceptable and not allowable within the rules, I understand and look forward to constructive feedback from the administrators.
Take care and know that I have been truly impressed with this experience. So much so that this is the first of many contests I will hold, all of which will be gauranteed.

Bridgegap -
It is of my opinion that your plan for this contest is perfectly acceptable. I feel that since you're giving a "heads up" to anyone who may be working on a submission, that it would be fine for you to close to any "new" entries tomorrow, finalizing your choice on the 7th as previously stated.
Of course I don't speak for the other 2 Admin's, but I'm sure that if either of them disagree that they will discuss it with you.
We look forward to your future contests at DC

Bridgegap (a response to your PM):
I'm sorry that I didn't explain where the grid's idea
comes from, but I thought it might be a good way
to test if the logo is intelligible at all. The idea is
from an MRI Compression Grid (- I do not know
if there are other kinds of such grids, this shaped
grids were the only ones I could find a photo of).
I might make a third entry later![]()

imaze,
thanks....i really like the creativity and research so don't worry about the message not being conveyed. Several other logos that I saw resemblences to the imaging field were missed by the client as well.
As for another submission, please take note of my post yesterday that set the deadline for new submissions to today by 5 pm EST.
I will take the information you provided here to the clilent today.

All,
As per my message posted yesterday, new submissions will no longer be considered. I am meeting with the client tonight and hope to post feedback to the handful of submissions we would like to focus on for the remainder of the contest.
Thank You,
BridgeGap
All,
If your submission appears above my last message, your submission is being considered.

All,
Just got done with my meeting with the client. He has asked that he be given until 12 pm EST tomorrow (8/4/2004) to narrow down the finalists to five. He is having real serious issues narrowing down what is clearly a group of high quality logos.
Your patience is greatly appreciated.
BridgeGap
All,
I have just finished speaking with the client and he has narrowed down the finalists to a group of 5 designers. To all of those who are not mentioned please know that the client was simply choosing from the best of the best and he could barely do that without significant prodding from me to make a commitment.
My general comment is that some of the finalists need to work on their logo's ability to print well. The client will be using this logo in print, as well as online, and a couple of them do not work well on paper.....I will provide specific feedback below.
Moving to the finalists and the associated feedback (Provided in no particular order)
1. jlinds72; Post #9 (Entry 1) and Post #25 (Entry b). Overall the client is focused more on the Post #25 entry. You sparked some familiarization in him that he would like to see you pursue. In the option you are using diamonds. He would like to see an option with stars that captures some of the message he sees in the logo for www.sodexho.com. Although not related to the industry, there was something about "being a star" that he seemed to relate to. As for print, I would test to be certain that the word "solutions" in the logo will print well. Again, any additional depth you provide to the logo as an option would also be appreciated.
2. originalvision; Post #11 & #24 (versions of the same logo). The newest versions of the logo didn't do it for the client, but the original logo is so strong that it is still considered a leader. The client does not like the blue, so at a minimum I make the following recommendation. Burganday lettering with a gold trim that wraps around the heart that is also bugandy....i would try variants on the solutions color from black, to burgandy, to burgandy with gold trim.....i don't think the trim will show up well on the small lettering of the solutions. As for print, your current versions all print well, but be aware of how changes might affect the print quality.
3. Grudice; Post #20; Version 1 & 2. Both of these versions are liked by the client. The first logo, however, does not print particularly well (do to the shading) so the client has asked that you replicate the colors in version 1 on version 2. In addition, both logos will require the word "solutions" added to them....probably smaller either centered or to the right bottom in either the gray or black....open, however, to your imagination.
4. rEnder; Post #35; Entry 2. The client likes the logo but is concerned that the background image washes out when printed. In addition, Health Tech is 2 words and he would like to see that reflected in another version.
5. Rben@Run2; Post #36; Entry 1. The client likes the logo, but the person is very hard to see and is nearly invisible when printed.....I hope you are able to find some balance with the outline of the person that makes it "pop" more on the screen and on paper. Additionally, the gray lettering of solutions washes out as well....more than likely, you will want to find some variation of color for both. The client would also like to see a couple of variants with different fonts that don't appear to be as "chopped" as some of the letters like the "a" in health.
As everyone can see, there is no particular theme in what the client prefers other than high quality work. I commend each of you on your efforts and look forward to continuing to narrow focus to a head on Saturday. Please resubmit and the client will provide feedback on a per submission basis.
If you should have any questions please post them and I will usually respond within a few hours.
Thank you,
BridgeGap
