$100 Lyric Site Template

Hey, I am looking for a design for my soon to be lyric site http://www.ez-lyrics.com
- The site will offer up to date lyrics of every song possible.

Design
- I want a professional design, I want my site to stand out from all the other lyric sites. It needs to be simple yet fun and creative.
- A few sites that I like the style (glassy appeal), not the layout of everything or images are...
- http://www.stockedphotos.com
- http://www.boxedart.com
- http://www.coolcounters.com

There doesn't really need to be any navigational links like home, about, etc. Simply just a horizontal bar that has the A B C, letter links to identify the category.

Header
A cool header is a must, because most of the layout needs to be taken up by lyrics. An idea I had was a cartoon guy with headphones on with music symbols coming out. Just a thought, it doesn't have to be that though.

Layout
I recomend a layout like the one that is online on http://www.ez-lyrics.com right now. I'm just talking about how things are laid out not the style etc.
- Logo/Banner up top
- Navigational links next
- Large content area
- Footer to match the header

Colors
Specific colors aren't needed. Anything that really goes good together

Prize
100 Dollars + Good hosting (1 GB space / 40 GB BW) if you want it

As always, site is completly customisable. If you get a song with alot of lyrics, It dosent matter, as if im chosen as winner and convert it to html, i'll add an iframe, which means it'll scroll down in an invisible frame, hard to exaplain, but it'll work trust me

That looks pretty good, definately the professional look I was going for.
For the iframe thing, I dont want any iframe's, Ill just set the img as the table background and it will resize by itself.
I like all the music related things in there, it could use just a little bit more, but I love the logo

Edit: Also, I think the header part is a bit too big, theres just too much empty spaces with nothing going on

How long is the hosting for if we take both that and $100?

It will be for as long as I have my dedicated server. I dont want to promise anything just in case something happens, but I intend to have it for as long as I am making websites. But after one full year of hosting you will be forced to pay for hosting (Prices can be found on http://www.vdifx.com) or move somewhere else. But a year is quite a long time

Revised Version

Heres the same template, but with a few modifications you mentioned. I wont be doing any more minor modifications unless it is selected as the winner, because this could clog up the thread. If its selected as the winner, we can do minor modifications etc then.

Please note that the actual content area is 600px wide,
and it can easily be reduced by at least 75 pixels if needed.
(I mentioned this because the calligraphy stretches quite
far to the sides, so if a person still uses 800x600 screen,
she will see the whole content area anyway.)

Pretty much the same template. I just added some graphics, brightened up the colors, and muted the background. I left the white space in the header for donations, top pics, Google Ads... whatever!

Everything is vector so it won't be too tough to put it in the size you want!

Shy Flower - I like the creative design of your submition, but it reminds me too much of the current layout I have now. Maybe if you changed it around a bit, got rid of the white box, and maybe added a matching footer then it would be alot better


aE-COma - Really nice design, I'd say you and Russel have the two best designs in my opinion and it is going to be hard for me to choose. Nothing I can really say is wrong with it.
