i don't see any images in your first post.
I'll be honest and say I'm really not liking the escape corruption cover.
it looks like it was just tossed togeather in a matter of seconds. The concept could have been taken alot futher with some glow off the fire and the hands I think would of looked better drawn out. The font well there could have been alot better choices.
I really don't get the overall picture and what it represents but that isn't an issue really.

A couple of questions about your designs... are these album covers? Are they both for the same band? If so, what is the band name? Is the text on the graphic the band name or the album title?
If these are album covers, you'll want to be sure to include the basics - band name and album title, and probably want to create a logo for the band name that is consistent to all of the albums.
On the first graphic, the message you're trying to convey might be more powerful and obvious without the fire, which seems to throw off the message a little bit... Also, try to steer away from script fonts, as they are too "soft" and "gentle". Unless your aim is contradiction, you'll find that you can say a lot with the typeface that you use, even before the words are read. I would also try finding a better fire image - either a small fire, such as the size that would fit into someone's hands, or a more detailed explosion type of fire, if that's the look you were going for. But, I feel like the fire image that you chose has little meaning, and doesn't make sense in the context it was used. Also, unless this is just a rough draft/work-in-progress, you'll need to work on the shading, lighting and blending, so that it looks more real, as opposed to a bunch of images piled on top of each other.
On the 2nd graphic (with the wings in the background) I'd recommend the same as above, to steer away from the script font and use something a little more tough. Your imagery is strong and powerful, yet you use a weak (and, frankly, overused) script font. I like this graphic better than the first one, but think it still needs a little TLC. Just play with it some more, spend some time making it cohesive, and if it's a band's album cover, be sure to include the band name.
I hope i haven't been too hard on you, you've got potential, just take your time and I'm sure we'd all love to see another draft!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Sunshine,
Per your PM, here is a site that will help explain different font styles:

And here are some quick examples of fonts I might use, if this were my design:
