If you export ttf directly from coreldraw, you will have smoothing problem. Up to CorelDraw x5, this problem still occurred (X6 I'm not sure). When I said smoothing problem, I mean, eventhough it was designed perfectly smooth in CorelDraw, your ttf will have smooth problem here and there. Besides, no kerning pair setting options when export ttf directly.
The best solution that I know works perfectly is... design your font in CorelDraw or any vector program, export the characters as eps, import the eps into font editor program such as High-Logic font creator or FontLab Studio. This way, you wouldn't have any smooth problem to the curve.

the video is highly illustrative, thank you very much HappyGD!!.
For a long time I have done fonts with Autocad. For my work with AutoCAD is very good because always you can work with distances and reference points. The problem is that program is more complicated but more exact. That is my opinion.
Nowon day, I have worked for several months with illustrator and still do not control all commands. I suppose that when I use illustrator perfectly, I will not do more own fonts with autocad.

You are welcome :) Creating fonts in Autocad is very impressive! But yes once you learn Illustrator you will most likely be using it more often

As mentioned FontLab Studio is the leading tool for developing high quality fonts, but if you want a tool thats easier to use I would suggest Fontographer. Mainly because it's a bit more like Illustrator.

FontLab Studio has more features but yes Fontographer is definitely a little more user friendly! :)
