How much a Graphic Designer must earn

Hi, Im studing GD in Mexico and I want to know how much companys should pay.

I guess it all depends. Even in one country (USA) it must be different from state to state. Anyway, I am not in America and I can't say for sure

Well, a company in our city wants 640€ a day for a person, but you just get 115€ a day

Here in the Netherlands depending on how famous or good you are. When you are pro en top you can easily ask 75 euro per hour ratings. However you really need to have big clients that have the money and are willing to pay that sort or money.

A starting designer mostly be around the half of the price some where between 40 or 50 euro. However if you really still need to find clients and need to get a list of steady clients I would go even lower. The 40 to 50 is mostly designers who have been working at a company and setup a clients list during that and left the company with a very steady group of clients.

However you need do low prices to get clients however you should look out not to do work for prices where you be better working in a supermarket or snackbar.

It depends on what part of the world you live in.. In mexico i would say $40 a day is good

Belarus - about 35 dollars per day on first work. And about 300-400 dollars per week on second ^__^

It definately depends on how is your PR and reputation with the client and your experience level. Your work would speak a lot louder. For basic wages it can start from $80 per day and then sky is the limit. I have interacted with designers who are really paid like $150 and hour for their work, but ofcourse they are THE GUYS in their respective agencies and they do deliver worth the goods as well.

i am a GD from mexico city and sadly we don't get paid well, cause there is too many pple claiming to be GD just cause they know the programs. There is no way to compare wages with other countries cause it's hard to get that kind of wages, specially if u r beginning

If you learn some web development skills in addition to Graphic Design then you can earn more.

I think for an American, living in new york, i wouldn't charge less then $50 per hour. Everyone, no matter what your experience level should do the same. When you accept cheap "craigslist" jobs for $20 which is want most of those people want to pay, you not only ruin your image and future but you drag out profession to a new low. I know there is a lot of competition out there but don't sell yourself short. Try to compete with skills not price. Even if your not that skilled, everyone taste is different.
