I have an OLD mac...I've been using it for seven years - many many upgrades over the course of the years - but it still does everything I need it to. I run the Adobe Suite with several windows open all the time - as well as a few other programs and it's perfect for me.

I wouldn't mind just getting a new iMac, but my office has a TON of windows (the architectural kind) and the iMac screens are SO glossy. I'm sure there's a glare blocker available...but, like I said - I'm happy right now with my old G4

I would love to work on a MAC, but the PCs are still cheaper. I have a PC under Windows 7(great O.S. by the way)

The company I work for has always used Macs. I've been very lucky because every 4 years my boss buys new updated macs for every designer (there are 4 of us) and asks us if we want the old ones to take home. Over the years he has given me 3 macs. Two of them still work.

He now has the itch to buy an iPad but he won't be buying that for any of us.

Here's your chance for a free iMac or MacBook loaded with some Adobe software too. I just posted about how Adobe is giving away some great stuff. Check it out and good luck!

I prefer to use a PC over a Mac. I have designed using both PC and Mac, and I find that they are both pretty much the same when it comes to the designing part. What swayed me over to PC was that it was much cheaper, that I can customize and put my own computer together, and that all the games I want to play are on a PC.

Well i've been used both pc and mac, and i think that the mac seems like was made for the graphic industries highlighting over all, the screen, its resolution, brightness and sharpness is outstanding and it just make you feel confortable no matter what you do. Maybe an issue afecting macs today still being the compatibility, when working on web design i realized that waht you see on your mac is not exactly what a pc user sees, specially when is using ie for browising, and when the 90% of your costumers have pcs it could be a real headache. The design experience could be the same if you have great hardware but the real difference between mac and pc is just about the OS and windows have made a great progress with 7 os, but i think stills one step behind MacOs.
    I'm a mac.

I use a mac because the design of the mac is very sleek and clean feeling, and I find it nice to have this very nice modern looking piece of equipment while I am making art. Shallow, I know.

    Mac vs PC

I worked both with Mac and PC. I found that Mac has more stable platform with design, less lag in the all different programs like Indesign, Photoshop, etc. and easier in finding files formats. But right now I'm using a PC because of financial reason. I can work with both but if someone give me a Mac I wouldn't balk at the chance to have one.
