Hello everyone.
I just found and joined this site today. I have not had a chance to look around much. I imagine I can spend hours on here tonight. But this is really cool that there is a forum for designers to ask each other questions and get opinions. I find that a unique feature compared to some other sites that I belong.

I am from the United States, in South Western Pennsylvania (buried alive under snow). I started in graphic and web design back in the mid 1990's and life got in the way. I am not just getting back into it after about 10+ years. WOW... how everything has changed. I feel I had to relearn everything.

I went from Photoshop CS1 and Illustrator 8 up to CS6 and now CC. So many new features and things to learn. I am grasping it now. But it was a learning curve. I last used Dreamweaver when Macromedia had it. Back in the day, we used tables and layers in Dreamweaver. Now there are div tags and css. I spend countless hours on Lynda.com and Youtube trying to catch up to get back in the saddle again.

I look forward to participating in contests and in the forum.

Have a good day,
Jennifer

Hey Jennifer,

I'm from northern PA so I feel your pain. I've just started on this website recently, too, and I'm already learning a lot. I'm sure you'll be fine with learning the updates with the software, all the youtube videos I've found have been really helpful. :) If you're ever looking for a way to do photorealism in illustrator, check out this guy frankwyte81 on youtube. His stuff is amazing.

Tara
