Battles Vs.

I was in other forum dedicated to design,but all based in non-profit competition...
The best way they have to give us funny events was to arrange battles of design between 2 comunity members.Moderators gave us a briefing to resolve it in a week.Then both post the works and by poll system comunity chose the winner...it´s a good way to practise havin fun instead...isn´t?

Skanda - this is an interesting idea. Tell me, how would we pick which two designers would compete in the design battle?

That isn't a bad idea but there is a community and the reason its called the community contest. So that everyone can participate. With your suggestion there would only be two members "battleing" at a time. So it really wouldn't work out that great.

This is similar to design fight I found a while back - design "fight" ever hear of it?

Not really...in a threat ppl could tell to others that him is ready to fight...next one ho posts there is ho closes the "ring"...2 days later moderator that manages the fights gives the briefing to that fighters,and battle will begin...

U could have any quantity of fights working at same time,isn´t any matter for...

In the other forum I mented the briefings were really "harder" than life...u know,a graphic tablets spot where u cannot put any tablet in...some aquatic "new" Ipod but forbidded to use blue or cold colours,naming,restilling,etc...all in that way.

I allways think that illogical briefings makes to loss interest in work...is better to use realistic briefings...in that way u can use old briefings but adaptated to ur fictional "products"...

If that activity is added to that forum,also we make a "clan" battles...ppl bands in "clans" of 4 ppl and work toghether throught MSG or any kind of online way to comunicate toghether in a fight against other clan,rules same way as design individual battles...

Anyway both games developes imagination of members and competition,as in the pro contests...u could call it SIMULATIONS,THE SIMULATOR,CLAN WARS,etc...

More games we played there:

Tenis:
Same as ind. fights 1vs.1,but longer.a Theme of design but not creative,conceptual.Comunity ppl votes for a theme,as future,dead,etc (allways conceptual).Is played by rounds,as chess.Each player developes the same pic, that moderators choose for that game, in his own turn,but 2nd step begins with an object gived by moderator to include in ur turn of adding to the scene (u are free to include other objects in ur turn anyway).A new object per player/turn.Finishing the las turn,the pic must be resolved by the two players.Comunity votes for better one.Usual is to make over 3 turns per player,if not could be so much long to play.Over 2 days,max 3 days to work in ur turn,before to post it...

Fronton:
Same as Tenis,but just playin´ alone...

To be honest, I believe the contests here at DC is what makes this site unique. Contests where several competitors may participate.

In my eyes, it's a matter of activity. I'm afraid a design fight, as you describe, will not attract more than the two contestants only. By arranging community contests (as DC is now), you will make the whole community participate.

Well,I played over more than a year in a design forum with 300k of registered members and just that games makes it funny...
Allways there´s aover 8 or 10 games at same time playing to Vs. Battle fight,3 or 4 playing to just·alone game,2 or 3 clans battling and 3 or 4 tennis Vs.All that fights playing it all at once every week.
Well,I think all that ppl playing arouses comunity´s interest about it...
I tell u from my own experience...it´s funny.
Anyway,I think we could try to make a poll to know what comunity thinks about it...isn´t?
Maybe that comunity could try it...maybe hasn´t any lose on it...last word on moderators,anyway.
