A Fictitious Fast Food Logo / Sign
"You know when you're driving down a street or highway and you see that giant burger sign that's built on top of a hundred foot pole. It's illuminated and spinning around, and you can't help but pull into the parking lot. Mmmmm, 1500 calories of pure joy in a matter of seconds for a low low price, you can't beat it."
I think this would be fun, and you can create any kind of character you'd like, or no character at all, just an image of a delicious sirloin, or chicken wing. It doesn't matter... us designers love freedom, and a fast food project would be awesome! Also, I believe the mose appetizing as well as professional design should win, because a fast food restaurant is a business which thrives on sales from their hungry customers.

This sounds like a great idea for a community contest. That, and the fact that I'm hungry because it's lunch time!

This might be creative but not practical. First this will not make in the sign world maybe in a newspaper depending what type of printing is done but most likely the whole design will not work. You need to learn how to create motion that will translate in print and the signage world. One way is to look up some logos that show motion, if that is what you are wanting this logo to show. If you look up the words you are wanting to describe that might help, fast, speed for example. Looking up speed logos you will see speed racer, look how the motion is made in that logo, look at race car logos. These are just examples of the research you can do.
In the sign world you are looking at very restrictive forms, that could be lights, could be wood, could be plastic just to name a few. Think in this type of frame of mind the less color, the less detail the cheaper and big sign will be also same goes for print. Sometimes one color can add a $1000.00 or more to the making of a sign.
We here at DC have a few members that have and still work in the signage industry, maybe they will see this thread and chime and correct any mistake I may have here.

cmon Sharie you re right but i made this in few minutes just for fun... if we do internal contest i will remake ok ?

if you want to practice don't you want honest advise? or something like oh this is great? Does it matter if it is real or for fun,no. If this was a community contest I would have said they very same thing. My main thing is here to help, so because this was done a fun project doesn't take away from the fact that this type of design would not work as a logo for a fast food company for print and signage, so why not let beginning designers know this?

Okay. Where is that super juicy cheeseburger just dripping with yummy for my tummy sauce? It would actually be kind of cool to have a sign with the forementioned cheeseburger and have it actually drip on you!
