Suggestion to avoid a similar design in a contest
Hello all,
Let me start this thread by showing how grateful i'm being in such a great community, I would like to thanks all the staff who working pretty hard to make this community one of the largest FREE Lance ever.
I would like to suggest that all the participate designs to be hidden from the members and only visible to the "Contest Holder" and to the "Mods" to choose what ever he/she likes the most.
Benefits of this suggestion:
- No one will receive an infraction for being caught of a similar design, which happen to me, one of my design looks similar to one of the designers, which really pissed me off, because if you i swear million times that I didn't steal the idea no one will believe me lol
- This would protect the other entries from being stolen and copied to other websites, That happened before to one of the designers I believe shes "brandyarnold"
- This will give the designer a whole way of inspiration far from being tied up for making an idea and find later its already token.
In other Paid Freelance services, they don't allow to post the designers workflow on the main website, the keep it private between the contest holder and the designer him self.
The point from this suggestion I believe its not too selfish because I got infraction and feeling pissed off.But I believe it has a pure intent for the good of all.
Let me know your Opinions/Feedback but please give a reasonable comments if you think its a waste of time.
Thanks,
-Amr

i think i don't agree a little with ur suggestion Amr..it's once in a long while that 2 ppl by chance come up with similar designs..
but in general i find contests as a big inspiration to learn from ppl mistakes & to be able to fix it when u make ur design to fulfill the main purpose of DC which is happy CHs
and i believe if u are not able to see ur peers work & improve ur work to top their standards that would kill the competition spirit
Hey, that's only me!! would like to see what everyone think on that too !!
EDIT: and u can't always protect ur work against stealing !! if u have a public portfolio..big chances some one (any one) can copy ur ideas & claim it to themselves!! so....
