    Thumbs up Designing website !

I feel designer are limited to only creating elements for websites like backgrounds, animations, flash advertisement. If coders also come and participate in creating websites here then a complete team can be formed to provide web solutions to bigger companies.

    Wink Idea!

I think to design a Website first we need to know what the website is about. For example it is a website related to nature the design should be soft and not disturbing for the eyes, but if the website is for Rap-music for example it should be designed with hot colours and complicated graphics.

One man is enough for one site... its to complicate on this way to create a group for that...

This could be feasible however I think there would need to be a lot of specifications for the designer to know what they are doing.

intersting idea but would be quite hard to work out a system. perhaps if it were a code contest website too. or find one to affliate with we could do a link up contest? submit some ideas, sketches and stuff then see who from the coding website likes your idea best and joins you? it could be up to you to create a challenging idea for them to implement. sounds like somone needs to get on this. cool idea.

I like that idea. Cause I know that I would like to participate in the web design contest. But I never know if we would have to do the coding or what not. And I've never been good at coding websites. So I think the idea is a good one. And also if this idea don't get approved they should make it to where the "CH" must put in if the coding is needed by the designer or not. Just so that if we look at the briefing we can tell if we can participate in the contest or not.

All contest holders starting/running a website contest has a box to mark if they want coding in the design, we also suggest if you have question just post the question in that contest.....ask the contest holder if they require coding, you will then know.

I agree with you. But if many persons came together they can do a lot of work easily.

Sorry guys but this idea is not good. Being a web designer and web programmer for 10+ years. I can assure you that provide clients with quality web developing services on a contest-mode basis impossible, especially within a group of people scattered around the world. There should be a certain hierarchy: with a team leader, product managers, coders, web programmers, etc. Also there should be a collaboration and product management web-based software in order to work effectively (which contradicts the Rules - you can't work aside the DC).

Also the major factor is price. Clients will never pay much money during the contests. So sharing the small amount of money within a group will be not a good idea also. You can't seat on several chairs. Either you are good in programming + design or chose a field where you are the best at.

I feel those who support my idea are the ones who enjoy learning.Coding is not complex at all but needs a steady flow of learning. Its easier than designing actually as emotions are harder to communicate.Sooner or later people will collaborate over the internet(contests). Its better we should accept this challenge....
