Design a stylized apparatus for your favorite event. The design should also integrate a national representation (USA, Germany, Italy, etc.)

ie: Equestrian hurdles, rowboat, skis/snowboard (or should we restrict this to the summer games?).

Wikipedia could have a restyle when you look at it the logo is a big 3d model.
Would rather see a better real logo. Or something more trendy.

sure! It would be great if DC designers could compete big agencies. As a first step we should focus on the brief and may be also include sub products logos.

I think designing a flag could be a pretty interesting contest.

It has to be VERY simple yet aesthetically pleasant. Just like a good logo.

Flag is not bad idea but i suggest something different, maybe some packaging design?
I never made any and i think it'll be great to start that kind of contest.

And not only digital. You'll design - you'll made - you'll show.

And as material cardboard/paper. Only thing we gotta discuss about is topic of this box.

I like the merger logo idea and the wikipedia logo idea... I think the community contests should allow us "non-design team members" prove that we could compete with the designers... while we're still getting our portfolios together... even if the admin made up a company and set the contest up like a real logo/corporate identity contest just for practice sake...

just out if curiosity (not impatience.. lol) how long does it usually take in between community contests?

We do a lot of logos and banners here.
This will be something different.

What about tackling a well establish company. One that is well known and has a recognizable logo, and have people redesign it to either reflect their views on the company, or if they think the company that is popular has a ugly logo and feels they can do a better job at designing it.
