    DC Homepage Redesigns

Now that we're on the 3rd homepage design for DC.net, I was wondering if we could change the homepage every 2 months or so...

There could be a community contest for the DC.net homepage, and the winner will get his or her design level increased. (Or if they are not already a member of the Design team, they would become one) In addition, the winner would have to code their design, and optimize it for the front page of DC.net. Of course there should be a part of the design that gives credit to the designer. ("Designed by xxxxxx")

Don't take this wrong though, I love the current DC design.

So what do you guys think? Is it do-able?

    Thanks,
    Brendan Benson

That's not a bad idea, maybe something can be tried in the future. The problem is that the frontend is a big site with almost 10 pages that have to be delivered in a professional way and with a good update's method. Unless it is worked on php but I think that is too limiting for a contest. Also there is the fact that we have to keep a clean constant image of dc so that the people comming here recognize and feel comfortable with. But the idea is not bad but hard to apply.

I was thinking on running a contest in the community forums for new emoticons, do you think that is going to be fun ?

Yeah, that's another good idea! The current emoticons seem kind of stale and could use a little sprucing up.
