    Logo Feedback Needed

    http://www.designpatriots.com

Just need helpful advice for the logo in question (which is the vector eagle image). We chose this design for two obvious, and no-so-obvious, reasons; the Bald Eagle is the US National Bird and it gives further representation to the meaning of 'Patriot'. With the addition of the slightly opacity-based secondary wings, it gives the illusion of fluttering off, which is in no real contest of any symbolic meaning other than the goal of having that bit of extra creativity.

What can be done to this logo to help our appeal? Should we scrap and begin anew?

The logo or icon of the dove is too loose from the text plus the font type is not really working with the design. You need to put them more closer together.

Try putting the dove left and on the right Design partiots on top of each other.
And remove the dark shadow from the txt because the dove dont have this shadow makes then to look far to different from each other always incorperate the same colors in the icon to the name.

    Thanks for the advice.

My first initial idea was to pull something based around typography but then this 'eagle' idea popped into my head. Now, I would love the be able to combined them into something more professional and appealing. Any suggestions for some text options?

There are lots of great resources for typography out there--I like this site: http://www.ilovetypography.com

Not for logos specifically, but it teaches a lot about how type works, and I find that the more you appreciate it, the better you are at recognizing what works and what doesn't.

Also, the best advice I can give you is to design your logo in black and white to start--no effects or colors. The strongest logos out there look good even without embellishments. (That isn't to say you can't add color and stuff--just save them for last!)

Love the appearance of the eagle, I'd probably say the type needs to be larger and maybe set differently beside the eagle. Other than that, it looks great!

I would take a little time to study some video of an eagle flying or taking off. This might help the appearance of the eagle. Maybe give the eagle a stronger appearance.

Just an idea: maybe working on a logotype and trying to integrate the eagle somewhere. It looks that the eagle is too big now. The typo is nice!
